Tony Hartman has been producing digital audio, video and interactive products since 1993, and has spent over seven years working, studying and traveling in more than 70 countries throughout the world. He is pictured here with some musicians he recorded in Rajasthan, India in 1997. email Tony

Tony began his career in multimedia by traveling to Guatemala where he shot video and recorded music for “The Magic of Guatemala”. He then wrote, directed and produced this travel video, which won an award in the travel category at the 41st Annual Columbus International Film and Video Festival. Watch video

Tony spent the next 3 years wearing many hats for Magnum Design, a small multimedia production house in San Francisco. He produced artwork for the edutainment CD-ROM "Big Anthony's Mixed-Up Magic", based on the work of children's author Tomie dePaola and published by Putnam New Media.

Besides managing the production of numerous corporate CD-ROMs, he recorded and produced the audio and video for the CD_ROM atlas "Planet Earth", published by Bertelsmann AG.

Tony helped produce an interactive drumset that triggered video, artwork and stills on a giant screen that was played by Peter Gabriel and Tony Levin at WOMAD ’93 in San Francisco.

He worked on-site for 8 days as part of the Magnum Design team that produced a digital newspaper for client Apple Computer at Woodstock ’94 in Saugerties, NY. This was updated and broadcast to the 350,000 fans in attendance twice a day during the 3 day festival.

Still with Magnum Design, he created cutting edge multimedia presentations in Macromedia Director and acted as technical director for presentations by Apple Computer's senior executives at many events in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and South America.

After leaving Magnum Design, Tony traveled to Rajasthan, India to digitally record folk music. He acted as engineer and producer of the audio CD “Tunes from the Dunes of Rajasthan”.

The next 2 years saw Tony wearing a suit and tie at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco where he worked in the investment bank’s Internet Services Group and oversaw the building of numerous internal and external websites.

He left Robertson Stephens to become the fifth employee at Internet startup Webcast Solutions, Inc., where his duties included webcast production. This included managing the deployment of a webcasting studio in New Delhi, India, where he personally installed the equipment and trained the staff.

Tony’s experience in India led him to be named Director of International Studios for the Broadband Division of StarMedia Network, Inc., which bought Webcast Solutions and became the leading Internet portal for Spanish and Portuguese speakers. He traveled extensively to Latin America while managing the deployment and operation of webcast studios in Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.

After leaving StarMedia, Tony went to Vietnam to record traditional folk music. He engineered and produced the audio CD “Folk Music from Vietnam”.

He then put many of his photos, videos, and music on his Mediamelt website. Some of it can now be seen at www.muckinabout.com

Tony spent the summer of 2008 traveling to Africa to research and film the mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda. He also presented a laptop on behalf of The Adventure Center to the Watoto School in Buhoma Uganda watch preso. Watch the school kids sing and dance here

Tony taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Ortega Elementary School in Pacifica, California between 2004 and 2019 and served as the school’s Lead Technology Teacher, as well as Teacher In Charge.

Tony graduated with honors from both Sonoma State University and Thunderbird School of Global Management where he earned an MBA in International Business. He then earned a California Teaching Credential from the University of Phoenix.
